Hi everyone! I’m Aspen, and this is officially the last full week of summer before my school year begins.
Some people dread going back to school for various reasons, but my favorite part of getting ready for school is formulating a new daily, beauty routine. I wanted this routine to be simple & easy, as well as being fairly affordable, seeing that everything purchased here is from my local Target.
Before we begin, I have to say that there will be no new posts until the evening of September 2nd. I will be on vacation with my mother in Victoria, BC, and I do not anticipate a strong internet connection whilst I’m away. I hope you’ll understand, and be sure to get extra-excited for future posts!
With that said, here’s what I’ve recently picked up from Target!
Although I’m only 17, preventing signs of aging skin at a young age minimizes future damage. I don’t know if this concealer actually works in keeping my skin looking young, but the medium-to-light coverage and sponge tip applicator keeps this product fuss-free and perfect for an early morning.
I’m not blessed with blemish-free skin, and wearing a light coat of foundation and concealer definitely boosts my confidence, especially on seven am skin. Covergirl has recently released their new collection with Katy Perry, featuring new youthful packaging and fun names. This foundation has buildable coverage, and is also oil-free!
3. Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder, $3.99
This is my all-time favorite powder, and have been using it for the past few years now. As I’ve said in previous posts, this powder mattifies skin after foundation, or can even be used with just a little bit of concealer for a flawless complexion. The only thing I don’t like about this product is that there is no mirror, which may have come in handy.
4. Maybelline The Nudes Palette, $9.99
After running a concealer over my eyelids to act as a primer, I apply a combination of colors from this palette to create either a light & pretty look or something a bit more dramatic for a night out. I line my eyes with a black shadow and liner brush to mimic the look of eyeliner on the upper lash line.
I wear mascara everyday, whether I’ve got the rest of my face on or not. Waterproof mascara is a must during a typical high school day because you never know when your emotions will kick in, especially during the teenage years. Mascara just kind of completes a look, you know? 🙂
6. Revlon Lip Butter in Peach Parfait, $6.49
Peach works with nearly every skin tone, and the balmy consistency of this product looks good on the lips, as well as on the cheeks. To use as a blush, dabble some of the product and blend alone the cheekbones. You don’t need a mirror to apply this color to your lips – this shade is sheer yet buildable.
This is what I’d picked up at Target the other day, and let me know in the comments down below if you’re returning to class this year!
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading tonight’s post, and don’t forget to like, comment, and follow!
Have a beautiful day,
